Healing & Wholeness

Treasure in Clay Jars – this year’s celebration of healing and wholeness will be held on October 20th at Lincoln Minster School. The keynote speaker will be the Ven. Dr Justine Allain Chapman speaking on ‘anointed for compassion; becoming whole and bringing healing.’ For more information about the morning, please see the posters in Bassingham Church or speak to Dee.

Annual clearing of churchyard at St Michael’s

We will be removing all the arisings from clearing the churchyard on Saturday, October 27th at 9.30a.m. Many hands make light work so if you can help carry a few branches etc. to put in the trailer that would be great.   Thanks.

Season of Remembrance
As Harvest gives way to October, we will soon be entering our season of Remembrance with our annual Loved Ones Departed Service on November 4th in Bassingham at 4 p.m. Names for inclusion in that service are available for checking in each church. Please add any new names you wish to be read out on that Sunday.

Remembrance Sunday itself will be very busy as this is a special celebration of 100 years since the end of World War 1.   After a 9am Celebration in Thurlby, we look forward to welcoming our young people’s organisations in church and pray for fine weather as we meet at the War Memorial in Bassingham at 11am.   4pm will see a short service by the lych gate at St.Mary’s, Carlton le Moorland.   Additionally, this year we are involved with the national celebration organised by HM The Queen’s Office in London called The Battle’s Over; A Beacon of Light.   The service at Stapleford at 6.15pm is part of this and much work has gone in behind the scenes to follow the directives from London so that we are a part of a national network of celebration, all co-ordinating our beacon lighting and bell ringing and services to culminate at the same time.

This is a very special celebration year so please consider supporting the community of Stapleford and be part of the momentous lighting of beacons across the whole country at 7pm

Christian Books (Lending Library) … has arrived (at last!) I was thinking; if the Bible is the most important book in the library, and most of the other books are seeking to explain it to us in ways we can understand, then that would be a really good reason for regularly making our way over there… To browse, borrow, read, grow and (please) return!   Happy Reading, John.
