Dates-for-DiaryDates for the diary across the parish

Life gets busy for so many people so here are a few dates ahead, hopefully for you to put in your diary.

House Group
The house group meets again on November 22nd at 2.30 p.m. at 60 Lincoln Road, Bassingham. Please speak to Cynthia on 788461 or Rona on 789256 to find out more, or if you might need a lift. All welcome.

CHRISTMAS MARKET  –  Saturday November 25th

12 noon to 2-00 p.m. Hammond Hall

This is a major fund-raising event for St Michael’s Church. We urgently need raffle prizes, tombola prizes, bottles, new or nearly new items and the promise of cakes. There is a list on the notice board at the back of church with the names of those people in charge of specific stalls. Please have a look and give your items to the relevant people. Thank you.

Looking ahead to Advent

We are joining with St. Michael’s Waddington for our Advent course this year. There will be sessions on Nov 28th, Dec 5th, 12th and 19th – both in the afternoon and evening. Slips showing full details of times and dates are at the back of each church. The Advent Course material written specifically for our Diocese by the Discipleship Team picks up the Diocesan mission to ‘transform lives in greater Lincolnshire’ and the outline for the four weeks are as follows:

Transforming lives through prayer
Transforming lives through care
Transforming lives through justice
Transforming lives through vision.

Christmas is coming
Bassingham Choir will be singing in two concerts in the parish this December:

December 9th at 7.30p.m in St.Michael’s, Bassingham amidst the Christmas trees of our festival weekend.

December 13th at 7.30 p.m in St.Mary’s, Carlton le Moorland.

These evenings are highly enjoyable and help our respective churches raise money for their chosen charities.

Men’s Coffee Morning

At their meeting last week the gentlemen of the men’s coffee morning group agreed to meet regularly on the first Wednesday of each month. Dates for the coming months are now available. Please help yourself to a reminder card and feel free to take one to invite a friend or neighbour along with you. Please ring Michael on 01522 788383 if you need transport.
