Rectory Open Evenings:  ‘Come and see.’
Thursday June 8th

Each month the Rectory will be open one Tuesday each month from 6.30 until 9.30 when it is hoped that people feel free to come along, enjoy some light refreshments and also enjoy one another’s company.  The ministry of hospitality is very important and we are simply inviting people, whether they normally come to church or not, to pop in and chat about whatever is on their mind.  You do not have to stay all evening but we look forward to welcoming you to our home and getting to know people in the community and hearing your news and ideas about how we can best serve the people of Withamside.

Rose Weekend at St.Germain’s Church, Thurlby
Each year St.Germain’s in Thurlby host an amazing weekend where the beautiful church is decorated with roses.  For years I simply drove by, hurrying back home from work in Lincoln and often wondered what the festival was all about.  I now wish I had stopped by years ago to enjoy the simplicity of the church and the beauty of the roses.
It is simply a summer celebration where people get together to decorate the church with wonderful home grown roses and during the weekend the church hosts a Saturday evening concert and a Sunday afternoon tea with unbelievably good cakes, which I am assured are calorie free as it is a Sunday!

Please pop by and enjoy the roses, too.  The church will be open all weekend and you are free to look in and sit and enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet.
The concert on Saturday evening, June 17th, starts at 7.30 and this year we will be entertained by Cantores, a local group of singers who offer an evening which I know will delight all.  Tickets are available in advance or on the door: £5 per head including wine and nibbles.

On Sunday afternoon there will be a short Evening Prayer service at 3 p.m. followed by tea in the church grounds.  All are welcome.
